I wouldn’t say I am a connoisseur of sauces (like my son is of chicken fingers) but I am certainly particular. I long for the perfect combination of sweet and sour and not too spicy.
Since we’re trying to be more conservative with our sodium, we’ve been avoiding the sodium (and carb!) laden onion appetizer from our favorite steak house chain, of which the sauce is the best part.
So I was inspired to create a similar tangy sauce, perfect for dipping onion rings, fries, or chicken.
Note: Most of the sodium will be found in the mayonnaise and chipotles, so check labels carefully if you’re on a sodium-restricted diet.
